Rumor Mill: Trade Show Special
News Image
By popular demand, it's back again.  Our insiders have discovered some new developments in the E3 aftermath and look forward to what you can expect to see at ECTS, X03 and the Tokyo Games Show.
05.06.05 - 12:06 am

XO3, ECTS and Tokyo Games Show reveal major Xbox shakes.

With London Games week & ECTS only days away, X03 less than a month away and TGS in view, developers are gearing up for some serious announcements.

ECTS

ECTS will be pretty good on the Xbox front, no doubt there will be some Xbox gems and big announcements but what is blatantly obvious is the amount of developers shunning the Gamecube.  This seems pretty familiar with the later days of the Dreamcast, although the Gamecube will have some strong first-party titles, following suit of E3, it seems like the Gamecubes days are numbered in terms of third party support.

X03

It seems that Microsoft and a certain other big developer will be announcing and revealing some great original Xbox Exclusives at XO3.  Microsoft is due to reveal Rallisport Challenge 2 in playable form, among other announcements and titles.  Rare will make a huge impact on the show, much like last year with playable code for Ghoulies, Conker and Kameo.  What is of large importance is that we will see a new title from Rare this time round. Another large company will make a significant announcement though it shall remain nameless.

Tokyo Games Show

Last years TGS was a rather dismal affair but with TGS 2003, it seems likely that Xbox is going to storm the show.  In terms of games, Microsoft will be heavily promoting Xbox LIVE with a couple of new Japanese-orientated LIVE titles while displaying True Fantasy in its entirety.  Expect at least 2 new titles from Sega, and a couple of new exclusive titles from the "bigger: Japanese companies.

New Exclusive From New Developer

The newly formed super-development studio headed by the creators of such revolutionary titles as Grand Theft Auto and Lemmings, Realtime Worlds have been spotted working on a brand new Xbox Exclusive, LIVE-enabled title.  It is touted to be a groundbreaking title for them to make a splash in the gaming industry with.  This is a title to look out for guys.

Climax grows fonder of Xbox

On a trip to England recently, our insiders spotted at least two new Xbox titles from the creators of Sudeki and the Moto GP series.  These are expected to be released between Q4 03 and Q2 04.  Our insiders say that they are shaping up nicely and by the time they are shown to the public, they will be welcomed with open arms.

Speedy Balls

Remember that groundbreaking title in the 80's that involved overgrown men chasing a metal ball around a court in huge metal armour?  Well, if you don't, the name Speedball may ring some bells.  It looks like the original creators, the Bitmap Brothers will be releasing Speedball 3 for the Xbox among other platforms inside the next year.  Check back to us as this progresses.
